    The Introduction and Design Principles is key in providing an overview of the LIM and its relationship with legislative and council requirements.
    Embellishments is designed to provide guidance about the design, manufacture and construction of open space embellishments. It promotes quality, compliance and sustainability, which minimises ongoing maintenance and ensures longevity.
    • Animals

      Artificial fauna habitat (eg. nest boxes), dog off leash parks, horse infrastructure

    • Barriers

      Bollards, fences and gates, walls

    • Furniture

      Barbecues, bicycle racks and rails, bins, drinking fountains, picnic tables and benches, seats, showers and taps

    • Pedestrian infrastructure

      Boardwalks and viewing platforms, handrails and balustrades, paths, trails and tracks, pedestrian bridges, ramps and stairs, tactiles

    • Planting

      Garden edging, planting (community gardens, landscape, revegetation and specialist)

    • Play, sports and activities

      Exercise equipment, play spaces, skate parks, sports and games

    • Signs, art and memorials

      Artwork and interpretive trails, cemeteries, memorials and plaques, signage

    • Structures and parking

      Public amenities, parking, shade sails, shelters

    • Utilities and smart technology

      Electrical, gas and solar, irrigation, lighting

    • Water access, facilities and treatment

      Beach infrastructure, fishing facilities, landscape drainage, rainwater tanks, water features, water sensitive urban design (WSUD), waterways
