Iconic Aussie band, The Hoodoo Gurus, will headline this year’s Caloundra Music Festival at Kings Beach from 23-25 October.

The band that just this year signed a new record deal will perform their newest material as well as hits from their long list of chart-toppers that include “I Want You Back”, “What’s My Scene”, “My Girl”, “Like Wow-Wipeout” and “Tojo”.

Festival director Richie Eyles has just finished signing the contracts on an outstanding line-up of acts.

They include American singer/songwriter Toni Childs, whose distinctive vocal style has earned her a faithful following in Australia. A Very Best Of album, including her best-known hits “Many rivers to Cross” and “Stop Your Fussin”, was a runaway best-seller in Australia.

Other acts booked for this year’s festival include:

  • Josh Pyke
  • James Reyne
  • Bob Evans
  • Chase The Sun
  • The Wilson Pickers
  • OKA
  • Paul Green

Mr Eyles said he couldn’t be happier with the quality of acts in this year’s line-up, which will appeal to all ages and tastes.

“This year’s festival is bigger and better than ever before – I think it will blow people away with its variety of talent and musical styles,” he said.

“It has developed into exactly the kind of festival we hoped it would, with the pulling power to attract some big name acts from Australia and overseas.”

Tickets to the festival, to be held at Kings Beach from October 23 to 25, have been out-selling all previous years’ records and are expected go into orbit once the first of the festival’s substantial line-up is announced.

The festival is supported by the Sunshine Coast Council to bring a quality, family-friendly event to the Sunshine Coast. A Community Village, supported by Stockland, will operate alongside the festival as a non-ticketed event on the Kings Beach foreshore to showcase local talent and offer workshops run by community groups.
