Melbourne Storm’s entire NRL squad will make the trip to the Sunshine Coast on Thursday with two public opportunities scheduled for their members and supporters ahead of the pre-season trial against NZ Warriors on Saturday.

The Storm will make school and hospital visits upon arrival and locals will also get the chance to meet the players at a signing session at 5.30pm Thursday afternoon at the Alexandra Headland Surf Club.

An open training session will be held at 10am on Friday morning at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

The Storm have named a 26-man team to take on the Warriors in Saturday’s trial match at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

The team will include five players who were a part of last season’s frand final team, including 2016 competition-leading try scorer Suliasi Vunivalu.

Seventeen players who played in the club’s successful Nines campaign on the weekend will also pull on the purple jersey, including Cameron Munster and Brodie Croft who were named in the Auckland Nines Team of the Tournament.

Speedster Josh Addo-Carr will be one of five new recruits in action alongside 2016 Sunshine Coast Falcons players Ryley Jacks and Tui Kamikamica.

Assistant coach Adam O’Brien will coach the team with Craig Bellamy to also be on the sidelines overseeing the team’s performance.

Kenny Bromwich has been named to captain the side after also co-captaining the team at the Auckland Nines.

The NYC Thunderbolts and feeder club Sunshine Coast Falcons will also play curtain raisers on the Saturday before Storm’s NRL trial against the Warriors.

It is set to be an action-packed few days for the region with Sunshine Coast Lightning to also play two trial games against the South Steele at the newly revamped University of the Sunshine Coast Sports Stadium.

The first Lightning game will be this Friday at 7.45pm before the two teams take to the court again on Sunday at noon.

Tickets for all matches are still available for purchase.
