Renowned artists from across the globe and an enthusiastic audience of festival patrons will gather at Boreen Point next year to take part in Sunshine Coast Council’s Floating Land 2013, one of Australia’s premier green art events.

Community Programs Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said the national award-winning 10-day celebration brings together international, national and local artists to explore environmental themes through creative art practice.

"The festival will incorporate a diverse range of traditional, contemporary and virtual art forms including sculptural installations, dance, music, theatre and written and spoken word," she said.

"With the theme of Nature’s Dialogue, Floating Land will bringthe science of nature to the forefront and provide a powerful platform for the creative community, science, technologies and culture to intersect."

Various locations at Boreen Point and satellite locations across the region will come alive from Friday 31 May to Sunday 9 June 2013 to celebrate Floating Land.

The official festival launch will take place in February 2013. Keep an eye on Floating Land's webiste for festival updates and the release of the event program in early 2013!
