Pathway projects pave safer way for pedestrians

Sustainable transport is becoming an even safer and more practical option in Buderim thanks to two important pathway projects.

Division 6 Councillor Christian Dickson said Sunshine Coast Council’s pathway network was increasing on King Street and Golf Links Drive.

“Council is committed to providing a functional pathway network across the Sunshine Coast to enable safe pedestrian and cycle access,” he said.

“Construction of a 1.8m wide concrete pathway along Golf Links Drive has just been completed and we’re about to start works on another important section of pathway along King Street.

“The works on Golf Links Drive have extended the existing pathway approximately 160m north to Alfriston Drive and on King Street we’re also extending the existing pathway along the southern side of the street in front of the church.

“Both of these projects will provide safe and functional ways for residents to utilise sustainable transport options like walking or cycling  and to take in the beautiful scenery around Buderim.”

Works on the King Street pathway are expected to be complete in late September. Traffic management measures will be in place while works are in progress.
