Mobile Libraries back on the road
Sunshine Coast Council’s Mobile Libraries are back on the road, following a hiatus due to COVID-19.
Sunshine Coast Council’s Mobile Libraries are back on the road, following a hiatus due to COVID-19.
Community Portfolio Councillor David Law said the Mobile Library service was one of council’s most utilised and valued community services with more than 3680 regular visitors from all parts of our community and it was great to have them back on the road.
“The Mobile Library service is now back on the road with strict hygiene measures in place to keep our staff and library members safe, it is also operating with an updated timetable,” Cr Law said.
“Mobile Library services are limited to browsing, borrowing and collecting reservations.
“The number of customers allowed into each Mobile Library is restricted to one person or one family group at a time and visitors are required to register their contact details prior to entering the Mobile Library to comply with COVID-safe requirements and to keep our community safe.
“To ensure we continue providing an efficient Mobile Library service for the community we’ve also made some changes to the timetable.
“The Mobile Library is still visiting all our usual stops with some slight changes to days and times.
“Please find the new Mobile Library timetable on the library website, library.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au or you can contact the Library directly on 5475 8989.
“We look forward to welcoming customers back to our Mobile Libraries, but remind everyone to please be vigilant as we keep moving towards a COVID-safe society.
“This includes adhering to social distancing requirements, good hygiene and not attending if you are feeling unwell.
“All Sunshine Coast Library branches are now open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm as well as their normal pre-COVID Saturday hours, whilst adhering to a COVID-safe plan.
“The library Click & Collect service remains available for Sunshine Coast library card holders, and the community is reminded to make use of the library’s extensive online programs and eLibrary service.”
