Hilton Terrace, Noosaville is set for a million dollar makeover that will improve safety and give Tewantin’s eastern approach a whole new look.

Works slated for Hilton Terrace between Hilton Esplanade and Mill Street include the construction of a new kerb and channel on the northern side of the road and alterations to the entrance to the Ivory Palms Resort on the southern side, in addition to upgraded drainage, traffic islands, a dedicated on-road cycle way and a shared pathway.

Local Divisional 11 Councillor, Russell Green said the new work would create more room to improve overall safety.

“The extra space will make Hilton Terrace safer for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians,” Cr Green said.

“Cyclists will benefit by a new, on-road cycle way and pedestrians will have a pathway separated from the road by traffic islands.

“New alignments will encourage lower vehicle speeds and the extra room will make it possible to attractively landscape and plant up the route.”

Work crews are already on site and expect to be finished in approximately three months, weather permitting.
