Meet the makers behind our regional flavour
A celebration of flavour, innovation and community brought together the region’s most passionate producers and changemakers on Friday, July 25.

Meet the Makers 2025 showcased our incredible producers, makers and innovators, drawing more than 1,500 buyers, stakeholders and consumers to The Station at Birtinya.
Hosted by the Food and Agribusiness Network (FAN), the sixth annual event featured more than 50 producers from the Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Gympie, Moreton Bay and beyond.
The trade session connected makers with buyers from retail, hospitality, tourism and export sectors, followed by a relaxed BBQ and networking session.

Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Rosanna Natoli praised the event’s impact and the region’s growing reputation as a thriving food and agribusiness community.
“Meet the Makers is a celebration of everything that makes our region exceptional – our passionate producers, our collaborative spirit and our commitment to innovation,” Mayor Natoli said.
How we’re helping businesses grow
“Council helped support the establishment of the Food and Agribusiness Network in 2015 and we’ve seen this network grow into a nationally recognised leader.
“The region’s food and agribusiness sector is identified as a high-value industry as part of the Sunshine Coast Regional Economic Development Strategy and is now valued at over $1 billion, supporting more than 1,100 businesses and 5,000 local jobs.
“Over the past decade, the region has seen a 23 per cent increase in agricultural economic value, with growing demand from Asian markets.”
FAN CEO Nicole McNaughton, recipient of the 2025 Queensland Agrifutures Rural Women’s Award, said the event continued to elevate the region’s profile.
“Meet the Makers is more than a trade show – it’s a platform for growth, connection and opportunity,” Ms McNaughton said.
Producers also featured at the Queensland’s Sunshine Pantry Twilight Market, a free public event aligned with The Curated Plate festival, drawing hundreds of locals and visitors eager to sample and support regional fare.
