Don't miss this opportunity to meet acclaimed author Steve Worland at 6.30pm on Tuesday 30 July at Sunshine Coast Council’s Caloundra Library.
In partnership with The Bookshop Caloundra you will have the chance to talk to Steve about his latest book, Combustion, and even get your copy personally signed.
If you enjoy Matthew Reilly you’ll love Combustion which is the much anticipated sequel to Velocity and it will have you enthralled to the very last page.
Combustion takes you on a heart-pounding thrill ride as eco-terrorists release an airborne nano-tech virus into the smog above Los Angeles. The virus doesn't infect humans, just combustion engines, so every vehicle in the city is now a ticking time bomb. Australian chopper pilot Corey Purchase and NASA's Judd Bell must race the clock to stop the virus before it spreads across the globe and sends mankind back to the Stone Age.
This evening is sure to be interesting as Steve comes from an impressive background of working extensively in film and television in Australia and the USA. He has written scripts for Working Title and Icon Productions, worked in script development for James Cameron's Lightstorm and wrote Fox Searchlight's Bootmen, which won five Australian Film Institute awards. Steve also wrote the New Line action-comedy telemovie Hard Knox, episodes of the television series Big Sky and the Saturn award-winning Farscape.
Refreshments will be provided and bookings are essential by visiting council’s Library website or by calling Caloundra Library on 1300 LIBRARY (1300 542 727). Caloundra Library is located at 8 Omrah Avenue, Caloundra.
