Sunday 21 February noon to 4pm

Novotel Twin Waters Resort will be the place to be this Sunday (21 February) from noon if you are a lover of great fresh food, award winning wines and toe tapping entertainment.

The Sunshine Coast Food Show, sponsored by Sunshine Coast Council, will offer a four hour showcase of the best food and beverage the Coast, and some of our leading Australian producers and exporters, have to offer to tickle the taste buds of local and visiting foodies.

Council’s Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Portfolio Councillor, Lew Brennan, said that with more than 75 food and beverage exhibits, half of those representing businesses on the Coast, the show is the perfect venue at which to appreciate the smorgasbord of local produce available in the region.

“An important objective of Council’s Economic Development strategy is to celebrate and promote the incredible diversity and quality of the food and beverage the Coast has to offer,” Cr Brennan said.

“This show is about helping to achieve that objective. The show is about supporting the livelihoods of local producers, exposing residents and businesses to the range of produce available on their doorstep and promoting what we have to offer to the interstate and drive-market tourists who will be attending the show,” Lew said.

“This kind of exposure has the potential to open up new markets - wholesale or supply - particularly with the number of high profile chefs and restaurateurs expected to attend the show.”

The show program, all included in the entry price, will include four hours of food sampling, wine tastings, celebrity cooking demonstrations (with celebrity chef George Calombaris and Novotel’s award winning chefs), cook book signings and live entertainment for all the family.

Tastebuds will be tempted by delicious delicacies including sushi, chocolate, gelato, sorbet, wine, cordials, seafood, cheeses, milk products, beer, conserves, condiments, liqueurs, curry pastes, tomatoes, nougat, spring water and soft drinks.

Sunday’s Food Show tickets are $49 for adults and $25 for children including all tastings and entertainment.

Tickets are available on the day from the resort or can be pre-purchased on line at www.twinwatersresort.com.au or over the phone on 1800 072 277.

Sunshine Coast Regional Council is proudly supporting the event as part of Council’s economic development strategy.
