Woman adding shredded paper to compost

Council is hosting a series of compost and worm farm workshops throughout May to celebrate International Composting Awareness Week (4-10 May).

Environment portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said the workshops were an opportunity to learn how to reduce household waste.

“More than 50% of the average household waste bin can be recycled through a worm farm or compost bin – these workshops will give you a step-by-step demonstration on how you can reduce organic waste at home,” Cr McKay said.

Bookings are essential and should be made by calling the venue. Numbers are limited.

Visit Council’s website for further information.
