Mayor Mark Jamieson said there was goodwill on all sides during his meetings with State Members and Ministers.

The mayor and councillors met with Local Government Minister David Crisafulli in Nambour today, following meetings between the mayor and the Sunshine Coast’s State members of parliament in Brisbane yesterday.

"We are all determined to work together to get the best results for the region so it can reach its potential," Mayor Jamieson said.

"We know we must work as a team to deliver for the Sunshine Coast – and I think everyone is committed to playing their part.

"We covered a whole range of issues about the future of the region and I think all concerned would agree they were very productive discussions.

"I want to work in partnership with the State Government and promote the Sunshine Coast as a key location for public and private investment.

"This will create long-term opportunities for the community and economy," he said.

"A good relationship between all levels of government is needed to deliver our big three projects in the coming years: the Kawana Health Precinct, the Maroochydore Principal Activity Centre and the expansion of the Sunshine Coast Airport.

"Council also needs co-operation from its state and federal counterparts to deliver on its vision to become Australia’s most sustainable region," the mayor said.
