Some big festival favourites are in the second round of artists just announced for Caloundra Music Festival 2017.

CMF festival director Richie Eyles said this year’s line-up to date had a “rock” edge to it, full of great Aussie artists from near and far.

“We welcome CMF favourites Xavier Rudd, Baby Animals and Stonefield, as well as Oz rockers new to the CMF family, Grinspoon, Kingswood, British India and Killing Heidi,” Mr Eyles said.

“This year, like all others, the level of talent is outstanding.

“Xavier Rudd’s 2004 sophomore album ‘Solace’ debuted in the ARIA charts top 20, going platinum and earning him two ARIA nominations.

“Stonefield won the inaugural Age Music Victoria Award for Best Regional Act in 2004, followed by APRA Rock Work of the Year for their song ‘Love you Deserve’ in 2015.

“Grinspoon are still making headlines even though their debut album was released 20 years ago, and there’s no stopping Melbourne rockers Kingswood who are still packing out venues on their largest tour to date with their second ARIA top 10 album.

“More CMF artists include Karl S Williams, bringing his smooth blues tunes, while Bearfoot, Black Bird Hum and Chocolate Strings have the reggae vibes covered.

“Not to mention, we’re supporting a number of local artists, including Sunshine Coast bands Town and Thump.”

Division 2 Councillor Tim Dwyer said the impressive artist line-up reflected the festival’s high regard and ever-growing profile.

“With even more artists yet to be announced, including some great international acts, there’ll be something for everyone’s musical taste,’ said Cr Dwyer.

“Join us for four days of sun, surf and soul, September 29 – October 2, 2017.

“2017 is set to be one of the biggest years yet, don’t miss out, buy your tickets now.”
