Sunshine Coast Council brings holiday fun to Lake Kawana Community Centre with Brisbane’s Flipside Circus and their new contemporary performance Identité from 2 to 4 October 2013.

For 15 years, Queensland’s premier youth circus Flipside Circus has been entertaining audiences across Australia. Captivating the hearts and minds of spectators with exhilarating and innovative circus performances, Flipside Circus stretches the boundaries and ignites the imagination.

Flipside Circus’ Creative Director Chelsea McGuffin (Cantina) said she is thrilled to be working with some of the best emerging circus artists in Brisbane.

“I am so amazed by the students’ progress since I joined Flipside over two years ago. I have watched them grow into confident performers who seem to have no boundaries when it comes to their love and learning of circus arts,” Ms McGuffin said.

“The show puts a bit of a twist on the when I grow up dilemma that all young people have. It’s something the performances and the audience can relate to.”

Exploring themes of identity, the innocence of youth and growing up, 14 incredible performers, aged from just nine to 18, express their ‘identities’ through amazing aerials, acrobatics and other circus favourites in a visually stunning show suitable for all ages.

Identité performances at Lake Kawana Community Centre run from Wednesday 2 October until Friday 4 October, with 1pm and 6pm performances on Wednesday, then matinée performances at 10am and 1pm on Thursday and Friday.

Tickets are $18 per person and can be purchased in advance from the Sunshine Coast Venues and Events website, at the Lake Kawana Community Centre Box Office, located at 114 Sportsmans Parade, Bokarina or by calling 5413 1400.
