More than 60 Caloundra retailers are participating in Downtown Caloundra’s new loyalty card program which will provide shoppers with access to a great range of discounts and offers.
The program is an outcome from the Business Continuity Workshop designed by Sunshine Coast Council to assist local businesses to take a proactive approach to managing their daily operations pre, during and post construction of the Bulcock Street Streetscape Project Stage 4.
Councillor Tim Dwyer, who officially launched the loyalty program today (March 16), said it was a fantastic example of businesses proactively working together.
“The local business community here in Downtown Caloundra has so much to offer with close to 150 places to eat and more than 100 boutique retailers,” Cr Dwyer said.
“Since we ran the Business Continuity Workshop in January, the Caloundra Business Alliance has wasted no time in getting together and implementing an outcome that will benefit the whole community as we continue the Bulcock Street Streetscape Project and beyond.
“This initiative demonstrates the community’s commitment to creating a vibrant and successful town now and into the future.”
Selina Smith, owner of Cozi Swimwear and Secretary of the Caloundra Business Alliance, said the initiative had never previously been undertaken in Caloundra.
“We have more than 60 different businesses on board offering anything from clothing discounts to free coffees,” Selina said.
“Customers will be able to walk up and down the street, shop and get a discount on almost everything they need.”
To apply for the card, customers can visit the Night Owl, Red Hot Chilli Pepper and Happy Days and grab a form or alternatively they can download the form from Downtown Caloundra’s website at https://downtowncaloundra.com.au/.
The program will run from Friday, March 16 until December 1, 2018. For more information, contact the Caloundra Business Alliance at [email protected].
All businesses will continue to trade when Bulcock Street Streetscape Project Stage 4 starts at the end of April and locals are encouraged to continue to support their favourite places during this time.
