Alexandra Headland Foreshore Upgrade Stage 5

The upgrading work at Alexandra Headland foreshore Stage 5 is progressing well.

The weather of two weeks ago set things back only slightly, but work has not been significantly delayed.

Most of the concrete pouring for a new shelter slab will have been done by the end of this week, then it will be on to the main pathway, landscaping, lighting and furniture.

We apologise to any residents inconvenienced while this work continues, but the outcome will prove to be worth it. Stage 5 work is expected to be complete by mid-May.

Mosquito matters

Several accounts of increased mosquitoes have been reported following the recent heavy rainfall.

They certainly seem to have had a good summer!

In addition to Council’s regional mosquito control program, there are a number of simple things you can do to help stop mozzies breeding in your backyard, such as emptying pooled water out of any pots or containers.

Visit Council’s website for more helpful tips.

There’s nothing worse than trying to enjoy your garden in the late afternoons and being constantly bitten by these little nasties.
