More shade at Woods Park

Local parents and visitors to North Buderim will be pleased to know a brand new shade structure has just been installed over the popular playground at Woods Park, North Buderim Boulevard.  While it may now be winter, there is still plenty of warmth and sunshine about here in our beautiful region, so I’m confident the new shade structure will quickly be put to good use – enjoy!

New gates at Wirreandah Park

Meanwhile over at Wirreandah Park on the corner of Short and King streets, Buderim, look out for a new set of custom gates to be installed next month, with funding from my divisional allocation.

The gates will replace the existing chain and bollards that span the entrance of the beautiful, historic weeping fig rows. The new gates will improve the park’s arrival area and contribute to the overall setting for weddings held in the park.

Community grant programs

A new round of operational funding is available for not-for-profit organisations that deliver key services and facilities to the Sunshine Coast community through council’s Community Partnership Funding Program.

The program – which will provide one year of funding for 2014/2015 – is available under five categories: Community Facilities, Community Safety, Community Services, Cultural Heritage and Economic.

Submissions close 5pm 23 June. Visit council’s website for further information and application details.

Watch this space…

And a quick heads up there are a number of exciting new local projects and developments on the horizon I’m looking forward to announcing when the Financial Year 14/15 budget is brought down later this month. Stay tuned!
