Pacific Lutheran College Music Centre

I was honoured to attend the unveiling of Pacific Lutheran College’s new Music Centre on July 30.

The college has earned a name for itself in the development of the drama skills and musical talent in its students, and I have attended a number of performances, which consistently reach high standards. It is always a smart thing for schools to invest in the creative industries; they help build individual confidence and like sport also help build a solid team spirit through reaching for shared goals. Well done, Pacific Lutheran College ! Its clear teachers and students will take full advantage of the facilities.

It’s grants season!

Important – let’s get our share of grants for Division 1!

If you’re a creative person seriously consider applying for a Regional Arts Development Funds (RADF) grant (avg. grant value of about $2-$5,000), while not-for-profit community organisations can apply for up to $30,000 – and Environment Levy grants are also in the offing to help keep our natural areas healthy. The best way to successfully apply for a grant is to talk early with the program officers – they’re friendly people and will help you think through and develop your application – that’s what they do and they’re good at it. Visit council’s website for details.

Out & About

I will be available to talk to residents about Division 1 issues on Friday, August 29 from 9 to 11am at our excellent Kawana Forest Community Meeting Place. With so much happening in the division and the region, this is a great way to hear from you on all things council.
