Visit Bankfoot House on Sunday, August 26 as we continue to celebrate the 150th anniversary of this historic, state heritage-listed property - the oldest surviving building in the Glass House Mountains.

This free event will commemorate when Bankfoot House was established as the lunch stop and staging post for Cobb & Co coaches on the Brisbane to Gympie goldfields route.

Heritage Portfolio Councillor Rick Baberowski said a special program of events was being held throughout the year to mark the 150-year anniversary of the founding of Bankfoot House by pioneers William and Mary Grigor.

“Join in for a morning of discovery on August 26, enjoy a free morning tea and hear from guest speakers including Jeff Powell, Curator of Cobb & Co Museum and Steve Ralph from The Australian Teamsters Hall of Fame,” Cr Baberowski said.

The Friends of Bankfoot House will run tours of the house from 10am to 3pm.
