The Caloundra Chamber of Commerce has set a new record in accruing members, having now broken the 400 barrier.
This places it as the largest chamber on the Sunshine Coast, and the second-largest in regional Queensland.
Mayor Mark Jamieson congratulated the chamber’s board and staff on the effort.
“Council has a strong relationship with all Sunshine Coast chambers under the Chambers Alliance – they are central to our communications network particularly with regard to the Regional Economic Development Strategy and its goals.”
“Caloundra Chamber of Commerce is a strong organisation that gives great service to its members.”
Chamber President Michael Shadforth said it was an historical occasion for the chamber.
“We are delighted to hit our target of 400 members, what an incredible milestone we have achieved - the highest number of members in the history of the Chamber!” Mr Shadforth said.
“How wonderful this milestone comes on the eve of our Annual General Meeting.”
The 400th member is new company The Big Boing, and indoor trampolining centre, opening its doors on September 20.
Mr Shadforth said The Big Boing would be the first of its kind on the Sunshine Coast region, when it opens at Birtinya seven days a week.
