A new playground at Silverwood Drive in Burnside is now ready for kids to climb, swing and slide.

Division 10 Councillor Greg Rogerson expected the playground would be well used by young families in the area.

“There’s a bird’s nest style swing, several climbing activities and a slide,” Cr Rogerson said.

“The playground provides a safe area to play for children of all ages – there’s a soft rubber surface under the swings and sand around the whole playground.

“It’s well shaded by natural vegetation too, and construction included subsurface drainage and landscaping to ensure kids can enjoy the area as often as possible.

“This is just one of many park and recreational infrastructure projects Council is delivering this financial year as part of its $111 million Capital Works Program, and I’m very pleased to see this portion of Council funding spent on such a great asset.”
