Bruckner’s 4th Symphony comes to life with Brisbane Symphony Orchestra

Continuing with their 25-year celebration tour, the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra returns to Council’s Lake Kawana Community Centre with an all-new show on Sunday, May 24 at 3pm.

Last March, the orchestra entertained audiences with an all Beethoven concert and is proud to present its next performance, The Glory of Vienna.

Conducted by Antoni Bonetti, this show will have more of a “romantic” theme and will feature the exquisite Der Rosenkavalier Waltzes and Anton Bruckner’s Symphony No. 4, titled “Romantic”.

The orchestra musicians will rise – or sit – to the occasion, the men dignified in tails and white tie and the ladies will frock up with all the elegance of a Viennese ball.

Brisbane Symphony Orchestra, formerly named Brisbane Sinfonia, was formed in 1990.  Members of the orchestra are drawn from all walks of life, including medical specialists, lawyers and professional musicians engaged in music education.

The orchestra has had marked success, due in great measure to the efforts of founding conductor and artistic director Antoni Bonetti.

Doors open at 2.30pm. The Glory of Vienna tickets are $35 for adults, $28 for concessions and $10 for school aged children. Children under five years are free. Tickets can be purchased at the Lake Kawana Community Centre box office, by calling 5413 1400 and online at www.scvenuesandevents.com.au

Lake Kawana Community Centre is located at 114 Sportsmans Parade, Bokarina and offers car parking in close proximity to the venue.
