The Buderim park with a view to rival any other on the Sunshine Coast, and which council has built from the ground up over the past five years, will have a stage area, multiuse community area, additional barbecue shelter and amenities block added this year.
Division 7 Councillor Ted Hungerford said he was looking forward to the Buderim Village Park’s latest additions being completed.
“This stage of work follows construction of viewing terraces and barbecue shelters in 2016, and these new features will expand the recreational opportunities for our community yet again,” Cr Hungerford said.
New features include:
- a multi-functional community space – a raised covered area for performances or community meetings with an adjoining public amenities area
- a village square that provides a meeting point and includes shaded seating areas, bike racks, bins and a drinking fountain
- completion of the upper promenade path.
Some parking bays will be required for a site compound and storage area during construction.
Construction is underway now and is scheduled to be completed in October 2017, in time for a celebration event for the 50th Anniversary of the Naming of the Sunshine Coast and the Christmas carols.
Buderim Village Park is a 3.4 hectare park with landscaped gardens, a lush village green and stunning views of the Glasshouse Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.
