Dog parks and off-leash areas

List of areas by suburb that are designated off-leash areas for dogs on the Sunshine Coast.

All dogs must be kept on a leash when in public areas, unless in a designated off-leash area. When using off-leash areas on the Sunshine Coast:

  • Dogs must be near their owner and responsive to their commands.
  • Owners must carry a leash with them at all times.
  • Dogs must not interfere with any other people.
  • Regulated dogs are not allowed to be in off-leash areas.
  • Dog droppings must be removed and disposed of properly.
  • Dogs are not allowed in children's playgrounds or picnic/barbecue areas.
  • Dogs are not allowed to be off-leash on sports fields.
  • Ensure the council registration tag is worn.

In designated off-leash areas you must be able to control your dog. Be sure to check the signage to see whether dog off-leash times or conditions have changed. Penalties apply if dogs are off leash outside of these times

See the table at the bottom of this page or use the following resources for detailed information on off-leash areas for your dog:

Please note: sports fields are not dog off-leash areas. Outside of training and competition times dogs are generally allowed on sports fields while on a leash, however local clubs have the right to ban dogs from their sports fields so make sure you check the signage or fines may apply.
