Ever dreamt of being a ballerina? Now’s your chance to take to the stage!
- Thursday 11 July 2019

The workshops will take place at Venue 114, 114 Sportsmans Parade, Bokarina on Monday 19 August, 2019.
Community portfolio councillor Jenny McKay said ballet is a great way to increase fitness, improve stamina and have a whole lot of fun.
“As we get older, keeping our bodies strong and agile becomes even more important,” Cr McKay said.
“These workshops are designed to stimulate participants both physically and mentally. They’re suitable for all levels of experience – including beginners’.”
“Queensland Seniors Week runs from August 17-25 and many other fantastic events will take place on the Sunshine Coast across the week. These will be promoted on council’s website in the coming weeks so stay tuned to find out about activities that interest you.’’ Cr McKay said.
There are two types of ballet workshop on offer:
Ballet for Seniors - Feel better, think better, live better – with ballet. This gentle class is especially tailored for active older adults with a focus on improving poise, core strength, memory and mobility.
Ballet Repertoire - This class will give participants an insight into repertoire from Queensland Ballet Company’s 2019 season. Offered as a great follow up after Ballet for Seniors, this class will bring choreography directly from the stage to the Sunshine Coast.
