Sunshine Coast seniors are invited to join our accredited instructors this weekend for a Sunday morning ride.
Transport Portfolio Councillor Rick Baberowski said the rides were an enjoyable way to brush up on your pathway etiquette and build your confidence in a safe and fun group setting.
“Participants will learn how to safely and considerately share our paths with all other users and aims to get them on their bikes more often. Maybe with the grandkids in tow,” Cr Baberowski said.
“The ride will start with a short refresher and tips on how to be aware of your surroundings to ensure that everyone can enjoy them.
“The Sunshine Coast has a fantastic pathway network for everyone to enjoy, young and old, on foot or on wheels.
“New areas such as Birtinya come with purpose-built cycleways to enjoy the neighbourhood from all perspectives.
“This weekend’s ride will take participants on a leisurely waterside cycle around Lake Kawana.”
Stockland’s Birtinya Retirement Village has kindly donated an XDS foldable bike* as a prize for one lucky participant.
