Circling in on North Maleny

Improving safety and usability of popular North Maleny Road for local residents and visitors alike. That’s Sunshine Coast Council’s objective for the new roundabout at the intersection of North Maleny Road and Obi Lane, North Maleny – scheduled to start construction next week.

Division 5 Councillor Jenny McKay said council was committed to improving road safety across the region.

"We will be replacing the triangular island with a new conventional roundabout. This will significantly improve the safety and usability of the intersection for the local community as well as visitors passing through our beautiful township," she said.

"I remain committed to working towards the funding and delivery of these important infrastructure projects and will continue to ensure effective management of available funding in the interests of our community.

"I look forward to the successful completion of this project and thank the workers for their time and effort in the construction."

The project is scheduled to commence the week beginning 28 May 2012, and completion anticipated within 16 weeks (weather permitting).
