War on Waste Film Competition

Sunshine Coast Council is calling all young aspiring Sunshine Coast, film-makers and environmentalists to submit a short 2 minute film featuring their School’s War on Waste.

This competition is open to primary and secondary schools in the Sunshine Coast Council region only. You can work as an individual, in a group with friends from your school, as a year level, or as a whole school. The competition closes 2 November.

Compost and worm farm workshops

Council holds free worm farm and composting workshops at local libraries across the Coast. Participants learn how to recycle organic waste in their own backyard with a step-by-step guide to setting up, maintaining and getting the most out of worm farms, compost bin or Bokashi. Check with your local library for the next series of workshops.
