Council provides educational programs on recycling and waste disposal free to community groups and schools.

Council's Waste 2 Resource Education Program is a service provided free to community groups and focuses on the '3Rs' (reduce, reuse, recycle).

Groups can tour council's Waste and Resource Recovery Centre, or a council spokesperson can visit the group to give a waste presentation.

Compost and worm farm workshops

Council holds free worm farm and composting workshops at local libraries across the Coast. Participants learn how to recycle organic waste in their own backyard with a step-by-step guide to setting up, maintaining and getting the most out of worm farms, compost bin or Bokashi. Check with your local library for the next series of workshops.
