 Go to Google play or iTunes and search for Speak Up Engage to download the new smartphone application to have your say in an innovative way. The app aims to start conversations on the things that matter to Sunshine Coast Youth.

Perceived public safety, what a strong community means and gaining a further understanding on young people’s environmental focuses are some of the topics the app focuses on.

Giving young people a voice and engaging community in an interactive way is the goal. If that isn’t enough to get you in to the app store - just for completing the questions you will get a guaranteed shot at the wheel of fortune to win $5, $25 and $50 gift vouchers to spend at places like JB Hi-Fi and Rebel Sport. Wellness couch

Sunshine Coast Council has launched an exciting new podcast, delivered by young people for young people. The podcast will cover topics aimed at improving your Health and Wellbeing, covering everything from the latest Healthy Sunshine Coast programs to the adventure trails on the coast- there is something for every young person.

Sunshine Coast Youth Action Plan 2018 - 2021

Council adopted the Sunshine Coast Youth Action Plan 2018-2021 at is Ordinary Meeting on 22 March 2018. The Youth Action Plan aims to improve our connection with young people through improved communication and opportunities for involvement in community and civic activities.

Council supports creating jobs for young people through traineeships, employment programs and work experience placement.

Youth sector support

Youth Connect network meetings

Council manages Youth Connect (regular meetings between youth service providers). These networking meetings provide a forum for the youth sector to:

  • share information on youth programs, projects or services
  • discuss partnership options and youth service needs.
