Council has partnered with Lift Lifestyle Medicine to offer The Lift Project Sunshine Coast at no cost to all Sunshine Coast residents.
The Lift Project Sunshine Coast is an evidence-based online wellbeing program that draws together the latest research from Neuroscience, Lifestyle Medicine and Positive Psychology. It is presented by internationally recognised wellbeing expert, Dr Darren Morton, and explores ten wellbeing-enhancing topics over ten weeks – with an emphasis on mental wellbeing.
The Lift Project Sunshine Coast is only available free to current Sunshine Coast Local Government Area Residents.

Program rollouts - Round two
There will be numerous rollouts of the program throughout the year.
Dates for Round Two of the program:
Commences – Monday 27 July 2020 for a ten week period
Ends – Sunday 4 October 2020 at midnight
The lessons are comprehensive and explore the science around that week’s theme, however they are presented in an easily understandable manner. They are designed to be fun and educational, and provide you with the strategies to manage stress and anxiety, better deal with challenges and improve vitality, resilience and life satisfaction. The lessons are suitable for EVERYONE and will take you on a scientifically proven journey to lift your mood and your life - all of which are needed in these unprecedented times! Each lesson takes approximately half an hour to complete.
Once registered, each week you will receive an email and link to a short video lesson and weekly challenge to activate what you learnt. You will be encouraged to write down the learnings and reflections in the provided e-journal, and to share these learnings with friends and family.
The topics covered include:
Week One – Your Limbo is listening – learning about the ‘emotional brain’
Week Two – Motion creates emotion – why physical activity is so important
Week Three – Blue and green should often be seen – the importance of being outdoors
Week Four – Together feels better – the importance of ‘community’
Week Five – Feelings follow your focus – techniques to boost your emotional wellbeing
Week Six – Food feeds your mood – the importance of healthy eating
Week Seven – Rest to feel your best – the importance of sleep and taking ‘time out’
Week Eight – Stress less – the impact of stress and how to establish work-life balance
Week Nine – Giving is living – the importance of the act of giving to your personal wellbeing
Week Ten – What does it take to flourish? – find out what the five things you need in life to flourish and thrive
Dates for registration for Round Two of the program:
Open - Friday 5 June 2020
Close - Thursday, 23 July 2020 at midnight
