Changes due to novel coronavirus (COVID-19)
Council is monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. The health and safety of our partners, staff and the community is our key priority. These are unprecedented times; communication and directives are changing daily. Following advice on social distancing, council made a decision to suspend, cancel, postpone or delay all council events and programs.
Council’s Healthy Sunshine Coast program is suspended until further notice, at least until 30 June. This includes:
- regular weekly activities
The COVID-19 situation is impacting our program facilitators, community venues and our participants. It also impacts the many organisation whose activities and events we promote through the program. In our region, many clubs and organisations have already cancelled or postponed community gatherings of any size.
We make this decision with a heavy heart but in the best interests of our community. We thank everyone for their support to date. We recognise that we will all be impacted by the current global situation.
It is important that we all communicate accurate information from a reliable source. Council will continue to update the community daily. You can find updates on the Community Support pages.
Queensland Health remains the central source of reliable and accurate information for Queenslanders.
