Indigenous support unit for schools, students, families and community in the North Coast Region

The North Coast Regional Indigenous Education Unit supports Indigenous students, their families, the Indigenous community and schools within the North Coast Region. This includes the Bundaberg/Childers/Gin Gin, Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Gympie/Cooloola Cove, Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay areas. Programs include; Indigenous Playgroups, "Most Excellent Adventure Tours" to the Ration Shed at Cherbourg, Cultural Awareness Workshops and Embedding Indigenous Perspectives in Schools through cultural talks, Elder engagement, supporting Indigenous Education Workers and networking. The Unit provides a portal through which schools can network to help then engage with, and achieve better outcomes for, indigenous students.
