Christina Low Park Conservation Group
Volunteers are welcome! Come and meet us for friendly gardening. Local residents began this group in 2001 and are very proud of their achievements. Sunshine Coast Council sponsors this group. WHEN? Volunteers meet on the third Tuesday of each month at Christina Low Park at 8 am. By 10 am we are ready for a cuppa and some morning tea. WHERE? In Old Cobb & Co Lane opposite the Yandina Caravan Park. We work in the three areas, Christina Low Park, Cascade Park and Lions Park. OUR AIM? We remove weed species and re-vegetate with species endemic to the bank of the South Maroochy River. Once a year we give out free plants and educational brochures and hope to inspire the community to plant more natives. In the future it is hoped that volunteers will care for other parks in Yandina and this care may even extend to streets. Staff / Regular Volunteers: Currently 1-20 members / staff.
