2018 Australia Day Awards

The Sunshine Coast Australia Day Awards are a celebration of the contribution that individuals, community groups and organisations make in our region. Everyday people are encouraged to apply - you don't have to be famous, we're looking for the unsung heroes. If you know of a person or community group who make a difference to life on the Sunshine Coast don't miss the opportunity to nominate them for the Sunshine Coast Australia Day Awards.  

The 2018 Sunshine Coast Australia Day Award nominations opened Friday 15 September and closed on Monday 4 December 2017. The Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday 23 January 2018 at The Events Centre, Caloundra - an invitation only event. 

Nominations will be sought for the following categories:

  • Citizen of the Year - 7 News Sunshine Coast
  • Young Citizen of the Year - USC
  • Senior Citizen of the Year - Maroochy RSL
  • Community - group or organisation - Sunshine Coast Daily
  • Environment & Sustainability - Living Smart Sunshine Coast
  • Creative - TAFE Queensland
  • Sport & Recreation - Sunshine Coast Sports Federation

The nomination process is through an online submission, please review the category criteria and entry rules before completing your Australia Day Awards nomination.

To complete your submission you will need to write between 300-500 words about the nominee, provide nominee contact details, a photo and contact details for two referees.
