The garden has a variety of attractions that visitors can enjoy. The garden is a haven where the coast's botanical heritage can be grown and nurtured.
Botanic gardens show both the beauty and usefulness of plants. They are havens where our botanical heritage can be grown, nurtured, researched, propagated and protected. They are also places of science, art and conservation, walking, playing, dreaming and discovering.
Events
Art exhibitions, educational workshops and events are held in the garden and the purpose-built arts and ecology centre throughout the year.
Children's school holiday program

Walks
The Friends volunteer guides offer a range of guided tours of the garden. Check out the what's on page for upcoming tours. Alternatively, take a self-guided walk (PDF, 967KB).
Rain garden
Your walk will take you through lush rain gardens with specially constructed gardens that help keep water on site. The water is absorbed into the sub soil, and the flow is slowed and cleansed before it reaches waterways. Whipbird woods
Come and play in this nature wonderland - there’s lots to see and do! Families will enjoy a journey of discovery exploring nature and searching for the hidden wildlife and artworks in the whipbird woods located across the lagoon walk. Try balancing on the carved tree trunks, walk the rope bridge, build a cubby from sticks, find the ten items in the scavenger hunt or just sit on the timber platforms to enjoy a tranquil morning tea or lunch in the forest.
Great botanic race
The Great botanic race is an easy-to-medium orienteering challenge for kids and their caregivers. Weaving through forest, lawn and sculpture gardens it makes visiting the bushland a fun adventure for families. How fast can you find all the letters and solve this season’s puzzle?
