Janna Pameijer describes the artwork of five cows as 'representative of the gentle bovine herds that graze this countryside, and the dairy industry, a significant contributor to the economic, social and historic fabric of Maleny. Their stylised lines echo the ridges, hills and valleys of our Blackall Range. The gold cows represent the original breed milked commercially, the Guernsey. The silver cows represent the changing economy of dairy farming. This site was chosen as it was once the entrance to Boxsells Livestock saleyards which traded from 1921-2004'. This project has received financial assistance through Arts Queensland from art+place, the Queensland Government's Public Art Fund, Sunshine Coast Council. The fifth cow was sponsored by the Hopper families of Maleny Dairies, Lovola and Terry Murtagh, Bill Boxsell Jnr and Boxsell family of Boxsells. Located in Bunya Street Maleny.
