The Sunshine Coast Arts Plan 2018 - 38 supports a diverse, locally relevant program of professional development activities in partnership with leading organisations. For more information about individual programs please read below. 


  • Professional Development Series for Artists 2019 - 2020

    This program delivers a series of four industry skills development workshops for artists throughout 2019 - 2020. The sessions include Money for Art,How to Actually Start your Business with Kay Langford, Art in Public Places and Marketing your Art.  Each workshop includes guest speakers. You will have a chance to pick the brains of subject area experts and connect with other local creatives.  



  • Better Boards Program

    This is a development and mentorship program. It focuses on arts and creative sector organisations. The program aims to build the capacity of local non-profit boards, strengthen community leadership, inspire innovation and build resilience and connectivity.  The program runs from October 2019 to March 2020


  • QMusic Industry Connect

    Want to build a sustainable career in the music industry? QMusic’s free professional development series INDUSTRY CONNECT,  in partnership with venues and Sunshine Coast Council.

    INDUSTRY CONNECT provides new and emerging artists access to industry workers and resources through facilitated workshops annually. The program aims to give each participant a greater understanding of the music industry, from song writing to release and everything in between.  Find out more here

  • The Refinery

    The Refinery is a testing ground and training platform that joins the dots between creativity and business. Participants will immerse themselves over 10 weeks with access to mentors and a network of inspiring industry leaders providing participants with the business skills, tools and connections to turn their idea into reality. Culminating in a public showcase event and a chance to receive up to $10,000 investment into their business journey. ‚Äč The Refinery 2020 EOI's open Feb 3 and boot-camp will be held on Saturday 21 March. The 2020 program will run from Thursday May 7 - Friday July 3. More information

  • Third Drawer Down

    Creative Arts Alliance partnered with Sunshine Coast Council to bring Third Drawer Down to the Sunshine Coast. This initiative was set up to run a product development workshop to create bespoke, contemporary souvenirs. Six local artists were selected to take part in this collaboration with the world renowned artful retailer. A suite of products were created to be sold at Caloundra Regional Gallery, Horizon Festival and local retailers.
