The Sunshine Coast Arts Plan 2018 - 38 supports a diverse, locally relevant program of professional development activities in partnership with leading organisations. For more information about individual programs please read below. 

  • Better Boards Program

    Sunshine Coast Council, Creative Arts is pleased to present the Better Boards Program, a development and mentorship program focusing on arts and creative sector organisations. The program aims to build the capacity of local non-profit boards, strengthen community leadership, inspire innovation and build resilience and connectivity.  Find out more.

  • Professional Development Series for Artists 2019 - 2020

    This program delivers a series of four industry skills development workshops for artists throughout 2019 - 2020.  The sessions include Money for Art, Ideate, presented with The Refinery, Art in Public Places and Marketing your Art.  Each workshop includes guest speakers, a chance to pick the brains of subject area experts and connect with other local creatives.  Delivered at the home of The Refinery Creative Industries Incubator, Maroochydore.  Find out more

  • QMusic Industry Connect
    Want to build a sustainable career in the music industry?

    QMusic’s free professional development series INDUSTRY CONNECT,  in partnership with venues and Sunshine Coast Council.

    INDUSTRY CONNECT provides new and emerging artists access to industry workers and resources through facilitated workshops annually. The program aims to give each participant a greater understanding of the music industry, from song writing to release and everything in between.   Did we mention it's FREE?   Find out more here

  • Seedpod Pilot

    Seedpod Pilot is the first Queensland-based residency program from Victorian Life Arts organisation, Punctum. Hitting the coast in 2020, the residency program will create a safe space for artists to test ideas, undertake experiments, develop new work and take risks in a collaborative environment.  The launch will be occurring later this year. 

  • The Refinery
    The Refinery Sunshine Coast is a creative incubator designed to transform ideas into sustainable businesses.  
    The Refinery is 
    * a learning platform made for creative people 
    * designed to refine, develop, test and action your business ideas. 

    The Refinery will culminate in a public showcase opportunity and a chance to receive a $10,000 investment into your business journey.

  • Third Drawer Down

    Creative Arts Alliance partners with Sunshine Coast Council to bring Third Drawer Down to the Sunshine Coast to run a product development workshop to create bespoke, contemporary souvenirs. Six local artists were selected to take part in this collaboration with the world renowned artful retailer with a suite of products inspired by the artwork created to be sold at Caloundra Regional Gallery, Horizon Festival and local retailers.
