Wild dogs

Wild dogs (including dingoes and dingo / domestic hybrids) live in bushland areas across the Sunshine Coast region. Wild dogs are a declared pest due to the impact they have on the grazing industry. Landholders are required to control declared pests on their property.

Assistance for residents

Sunshine Coast Council provides the following services to assist residents to control wild dogs:

  1. Advice on how to prevent wild dog impacts
  2. Coordination of baiting programs
  3. Assistance to set up and operate trapping and monitoring equipment
  4. Assessment of wild dog activity
