Carports within the Mooloolah River Canal Area

On 19 July 2018, council declared that carports sited within 6 metres of a frontage and within the Mooloolah River Canal Area may have an adverse effect on amenity of the Sunshine Coast. At this meeting council also adopted Strategic Policy - Assessment of amenity and aesthetics considerations for particular building work - carports, for the assessment of carports under council's concurrence agency jurisdiction.

Permanent siting of shipping containers

On 13 September 2018, council declared that shipping containers and other metal storage containers, where in the form of a Class 10a building, may have an adverse effect on the amenity of the Sunshine Coast in certain zones (taking effect on and from 1 October 2018). At this meeting council also adopted Strategic Policy - Assessment of amenity and aesthetics considerations for particular building work - shipping containers, for the assessment of shipping containers under council's concurrence agency jurisdiction.
