The upgrade of McGilchrist Road, Eudlo from a gravel road to a sealed road provides formalised road lanes, and increased visibility for motorists. This upgrade will also help to reduce dust and maintenance costs.

Project scope

McGilchrist Road will be sealed between Ilkley Road and Dales Road. Work will be undertaken in two stages, with the first stage from Ilkley Road to Culgoa Road and the second stage immediately south of the Dales Road intersection.

Project update

The majority of Stage 1 (Ilkley Road to Banyan Road) was completed in March 2019. The remaining section of works is the upgrade of the Eudlo Creek crossing and this is scheduled to be completed along with Stage 2 works in August 2020.

Stage 2 will see the remaining gravel section of road, south of Dales Road intersection, be upgraded to an 8m wide bitumen sealed road. Works have commenced and will be completed by the end of this calendar year (weather permitting).
