Council is committed to the continual renewal and improvement of stormwater assets across our region. The six-cell box culvert under Cinnamon Avenue, Coolum Beach has reached the end of its serviceable life and is due for replacement.
Following the completion of the early weed and vegetation management works conducted in June 2021. The drainage structure underneath Cinnamon Avenue is due to be replaced for safe and effective drainage in the area.
Construction started Tuesday, 2 November, 2021 and was set for completion end of March 2022, weather and site conditions permitting.
Due to circumstances outside of Council’s control, including inclement weather, and the unanticipated Unitywater works on a rising sewer main, the construction has been extended into May 2022. The Project team would like to express appreciation to all residents and road users for their continued patience with this prolonged construction and would like to apologise for any inconvenience the works may have caused. Notifications distributed to the community during construction are outlined below:

Pedestrian access will be available via a temporary pathway around the site, for the full duration of works.
Signs will be in place, well in advance of the closure zone, to notify drivers of the changed traffic conditions. Council encourages all road users to plan and seek alternate routes where possible during this period.
