The new 4-lane section of road, dedicated cycle lanes and pedestrian pathways were officially opened on 13 April 2021 with a safer and more efficient travel experience now being experienced by all users.

Project scope

  • new signalised pedestrian crossing points at the Sunset Drive and Meridan Way intersections
  • improved pedestrian shared pathways on both sides of Parklands Boulevard
  • relocation of the existing bus stops along Parklands Boulevard
  • a U-turn facility at Sunset Drive
  • new street lighting and landscaping
  • the relocation of existing telecommunications and electrical services
