Businesses, residents and community groups now have until Monday 21 May to enter the 2012 Living Smart Glossy Awards.
Climate Change and Environment Initiatives Coordinator, Sally Wright, said Sunshine Coast Council had extended the date to give businesses more time to enter.
"We found many Sunshine Coast businesses were struggling to meet the deadline due to an increase in business activity over the last month," Ms Wright said.
"This extra week should allow sufficient time for the region’s sustainability champions to enter, whether they are a business, individual or part of a community group."
The Awards, due to take place on Friday 15 June, celebrate achievements in sustainability and offer great promotional opportunities for winners.
The 2012 Living Smart Glossies Awards are hosted by Sunshine Coast Council and sponsored by University of the Sunshine Coast, TAFE, Noosa Biosphere, Seven Network, and Sunshine Coast Daily.
