The 27 winners of the 22nd Sunshine Coast Business Awards have been announced at a gala celebration attended by more than 600 guests at Twin Waters Resort at the weekend.

The winners were selected from more than 188 finalists and received awards for business, tourism, individual and a range of excellence awards for key aspects of business.

In congratulating each of the finalists and winners, Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson said that it was a significant achievement for finalists to be nominated and receive the industry recognition and accolades they deserve.

“It is inspiring and rewarding to hear the stories of finalists and award winners,” Mayor Jamieson said.

“The businesses acknowledged in these awards have excelled in their chosen fields, and in many instances, have driven great innovations and new technologies.

“These awards also acknowledge the important contribution of our business community in growing our regional economy - the second strongest performing regional economy in Queensland.

“These local businesses have helped strengthen the local economy and created jobs, ensuring that we continue to record some of the highest business confidence levels in the State.”

SCB&TA Outgoing Chair, Ross Hepworth and Incoming Chair Jennifer Swaine said the judges were once again blown away by the entries.

“We are consistently impressed by the innovative and professional approach of our local business community,” Mr Hepworth said.

“This year has been another tough one with high quality entries across each category and has made the process even harder for our judges.

“We have also seen a tie in two categories, a first in our 22-year history.”

The winner of Business of the Year after being the highest scoring business across all categories was Nutri-Tech Solutions.

The Yandina-based enterprise is the nation's biggest exporter of sustainable agricultural inputs and organically certified products.

Working with multi-national food producers and consults at Governmental level internationally, their education division has trained more than 30,000 farmers.

Supporting business excellence through highly competitive award and recognition programs, such as the Business Awards is a key action of the Regional and Economic Development Strategy 2013 – 2033.
