If you’re looking for a Mother’s Day treat with a difference, come along to “Walking in Sunshine” a spoof musical comedy celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Naming of the Sunshine Coast.
Staged by the Palmwoods Theatrical Society, “Walking in Sunshine” will be performed at the Palmwoods Memorial Hall on Saturday (May 14).
Palmwoods Singers Theatrical Society member Pat Atkinson said the show is set in 1960s Sunshine Coast and features music from the colourful era which reflects the lifestyle enjoyed by Coast residents
“It was a colourful and fun era, with popular and memorable songs and a culture of its own,” Mrs Atkinson said.
“The performance is part musical, pantomime, farce and drama and a whole lot of fun.”
The musical is proudly supported by the Sunshine Coast Council 50th Anniversary Fund.
Tickets to the 2pm matinee have sold out, with seats still available for the 7pm show.
Admission is $10 and light refreshment will be available to purchase.
