A celebration of mindful living and rare musical performances by Grammy and Emmy award winning musicians are the highlights of this year’s Wanderlust Festival which starts on Thursday at Novotel Twin Waters.

The transformative four-day retreat brings communities together from all around the globe, to experience all Sunshine Coast has to offer, through a myriad of world-class yoga, music, and outdoor adventure activities.

Grammy-Award Winners, Arrested Development will play their greatest hits at their only Queensland live show and Grammy and Emmy Award-Winning artist Toni Childs will also take to the stage for a rare up close and personal performance.

Tourism, Sport and Major Events Portfolio Councillor Jason OPray said the unique lifestyle event will attract a large number of visitors from South East Queensland and interstate.

“Wanderlust is a great example of a major event which attracts visitors to our region with an estimated 4000 visitors expected to attend the festival, with the majority coming from the drive market, or interstate,” Cr OPray said.

“It is a great event where visitors can fully experience and enjoy our lifestyle and location – both great temptations to entice return visitation.”

Local talent and businesses will also feature heavily in the Festival – with home-grown success story Food Matters, who have nearly 2.5 million Facebook likes, taking centre stage in the Earth to Table dining experience and featuring as part of the guest speaker line up.

Food Matters founder James Colquhoun said the Wanderlust Festival was a great opportunity to profile the Sunshine Coast’s growing reputation in the areas of wellness and food innovation.

“Having Wanderlust and Food Matters come together for an event like this really shows that the Sunshine Coast is progressing in leaps and bounds when it comes to organic and local food, conscious eating and living a healthy life,” Mr Colquhoun said.
