It’s now easier for people to access Caloundra’s Ben Bennett Bushland Park, after Sunshine Coast Council upgraded a walking track.
Division 2 Councillor Tim Dwyer said the trail stretched through the bushland from Queen Street to West Terrace.
“The trail provides smooth access to the small observation deck and boardwalk, which surrounds the pond internal to the reserve,” Cr Dwyer said.
“This coloured bitumen we’ve used matches the other trails, retains the character of a ‘bushland track’ and will substantially reduce ongoing maintenance costs.
“I encourage residents to take a visit to the park, especially those who have not yet made the trip, to get acquainted and enjoy this wonderful part of Caloundra.
“This project is part of council’s ongoing commitment to parks and recreational areas on the Sunshine Coast and was funded through council’s $183 million Capital Works Program.”
