Around 300 local business operators have already jumped at the chance to tap into major projects occurring on the Sunshine Coast.
Tomorrow (Tuesday September 13), the Major Projects Forum will ensure our region’s businesses are well-positioned to benefit from nearly $1 billion of capital infrastructure projects rolling out here on the Coast over the next two years, with the potential to create 6700 jobs.
The forum, at Lake Kawana Community Centre from 3-5pm, is being jointly presented by Regional Development Australia Sunshine Coast (RDA) and the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI), in partnership with Sunshine Coast Council.
RDA Sunshine Coast chair Cr Debbie Blumel said the Major Projects Forum would boost industry and business confidence by providing information about major projects being run by council, Queensland Health, Ramsay Healthcare, Project Services, Department of Transport and Main Roads and QBuild.
"A significant number of major regional development projects and investments are taking shape right now," Cr Blumel said.
She said key projects in the spotlight would include state projects along with council projects including the Sunshine Coast Airport upgrade, Maroochydore Bus Station, Sippy Downs Drive, Brisbane Road, David Low Way streetscape, Munna Point Bridge and Evans Street.
"People looking for business and employment opportunities available with these major projects have already registered for this free forum and bookings are virtually full now," Cr Blumel said.
