Businesses, residents and community groups have only three more days to enter the Sunshine Coast Council’s Living Smart Glossies Awards, with entries closing this Monday 21 May.
Council’s Climate Change and Environment Initiatives Coordinator, Sally Wright, said the Glossies, named after the endangered glossy black cockatoo, acknowledge innovators who have made smarter choices in how they live and contribute to the future of the Sunshine Coast.
The Awards recognise exceptional sustainability achievements in building design, construction, transport, resource management, greening the arts, and edible gardening.
The Awards night will be hosted by two of Australia’s most popular celebrities - scientist and innovator, Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla and Gardening Australia’s Costa Georgiadis.
The Awards will take place on Friday 15 June at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort.
The 2012 Living Smart Glossies Awards are hosted by Sunshine Coast Council and sponsored by University of the Sunshine Coast, TAFE, Noosa Biosphere, Seven Network, Sunshine Coast Daily, Hot91.1 and Zinc96.1.
