Residents and commuters near the Sunshine Coast Airport may see some vegetation clearing activity over the next two weeks to provide access for further survey works.
Economic Development Portfolio Cr Stephen Robinson said clearing activities were expected to start on Monday, December 12 and continue for a number of days.
“The works will include the use of an excavator to clear a six-metre wide access along the proposed runway and future drainage alignment,” Cr Robinson said.
“Clearing the land in this way will allow for continued ground condition surveys and provide the opportunity for local indigenous groups to undertake cultural heritage investigations.
“The work is proposed in remote areas of the site and not anticipated to impact neighbouring residents.”
Works will be carried out during the day.
